Getting a rideshare from inside the box
“Inside the box” means the area between an Uptown parade route and the river. Driving across an active route can be difficult. Before requesting Uber or Lyft, try walking to a pickup point on the same side of the route as your destination, where a car can reach you. Check your parade’s route and current street closures when choosing that point.
Plan your outing
- Check whether your viewing block and destination are on the same side of the active route.
- Choose an accessible pickup point before requesting a ride. Walking a few blocks can change which streets a driver can reach.
